Are you looking for a hatchback with some extra power? Meet the 2020 Hyundai Veloster N. Both of these cars are ready for anything you can imagine from the streets to a track setting.

Engines

There are two engines available for the 2020 Hyundai Veloster N. If you choose the standard package, you’ll get an inline turbo 4-cylinder engine. It generates 250 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. It uses a gasoline direct injection fuel system. You have the option of adding a variable exhaust valve system.  The standard transmission is a six-speed manual transmission with rev-matching.

If you choose the performance package trim, the engine increases to a 275 horsepower inline turbo 4-cylinder engine. It also produces 260 pound-feet of torque. The variable exhaust valve system is standard in this trim. You’ll also get N Corner Carving Differential with a limited-slip differential and electronic control.

Driving Modes

There are three driving modes you can use on either package. Your choice determines how responsive the car is. If you choose Normal, you’ll get a balanced powertrain that is designed for efficiency. The rev-matching capabilities are smooth for faster shifting. Your electronic limited-slip differential helps you avoid understeer and boost your performance in the corners.

The Sport mode gives you a quicker throttle response. You’ll also enjoy the sportier shifting with faster RPM levels. The car reduces the body roll for enhanced driving dynamics. Your new exhaust system is aggressive and attention-getting.

The final mode is Sport+ with track-ready throttle response and power output. Your downshifts are earlier, and your rev limits are higher in this mode.  The limited-slip differential in this mode gives you a grippy, responsive ride for maximum performance and cornering abilities. The exhaust system snaps and pops giving it a unique sound that lets others know you’ve arrived.

Handling

When it comes to handling your new Veloster N, you can adjust your chassis using the same three driver modes as you do for the power train. The mode you choose determines the type of handling you’ll enjoy. Normal is lighter steering made for everyday driving. The Sport mode improves handling and gives you a more responsive ride with enhanced engine damping. If you choose the Sport+ mode you’ll get a car ready for the track. You’ll feel the shake as you drive with a stiff chassis designed for aggressive cornering.

Brakes

You’ll have peace of mind behind the wheel of your 2020 Hyundai Veloster N with high-performance brakes in both trims. The brakes are anti-lock brakes with four-wheel discs on them. The brake assist that is standard with them gives you a better reaction time if you need to hit them in an emergency situation.

The brakes on the performance package trim include 13.6-inch front rotors. The back rotors are 12.4 inches. They are both ventilated.
