In their latest announcement, IIHS upgraded the 2024 Ioniq 5 from a Top Safety Pick to a Top Safety Pick+, thanks to its compliance with new, stricter safety requirements. The Ioniq 5 significantly improved rear occupant protection, particularly in the Offset Deformable Barrier (ODB 2.0) crashworthiness test. These enhancements and the vehicle’s solid construction propelled it to the highest safety rating.
