Jan 14, 2021

There are fewer cars on the road today more unique than the 2021 Hyundai Veloster due to the car’s signature three side doors. Its asymmetrical setup improves its practicality as a small hatchback, allowing unrestricted access to the back seats. The car further packs the playful and fun driving characteristics that you would expect from a regular coupe. It has an option for a sportier 1.6-liter engine that performs well on the road and gets the heart pumping while out on the highway.

Stick around as we review the other specs of the 2021 Hyundai Veloster that will make you believe that it is a small performance car that is worth your money.

Exterior Appearance

There are six trim levels available for the 2021 Veloster: 2.0, 2.0 Premium, Turbo-R Spec, Turbo, Turbo Ultimate, and Veloster N. The base model has minor improvements from last year but the 2.0 Premium features a sunroof while the Turbo-R Spec packs performance tires and LED headlights. The N trim is the most luxurious Veloster and it packs upgraded performance tires to ensure maximum impact absorption and a comfortable ride.

Power Output

There are two power train options for the 2021 Veloster. The first engine is a 2.0-cylinder that creates 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. The second option is a more powerful 1.5-liter four-cylinder that generates 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. All models have a front-wheel based transmission that can either come as a six-speed automatic transmission, six-speed manual

transmission, or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT).

Handling on the Road

The car has precise steering, predictable handling, and progressively firm braking, which make it resemble a lightweight sports car. Veloster Ultimate’s turbo DCT takes 5.9 seconds to accelerate to 60 mph which is faster than nearly all the cars in this class. The car performs greatly when conquering the highway and the superior turbocharged engine is fun to drive. There is also a lot of re-assuring low-end power to support slow drives on city streets.

Take a Look Inside the Vehicle

Veloster has an intelligently packaged and designed interior that adequately uses the space offered by the car’s funky, asymmetrical styling. The rear and front sitting spaces are also adequate and adults can comfortably fit in all the seats. The driver is prioritized by being accorded a low and sporty driving position.

There is great visibility as well and the controls are grouped logically and placed near the hand. The car comes with Hyundai’s state-of-the-art infotainment system that Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Blue Link connections enabled. It also features a great-quality infinity stereo system.

Will You Be Safe on the Road?
