You can choose from five Sonata trims for 2023: SE, SEL, SEL Plus, N Line, and Limited. SE trims come standard with 16-inch alloy wheels, while SEL adds 17-inch alloys and the N Line comes with 19-inch alloys. All trim levels come with a range of exterior color options, including more than ten shades ranging from hyper white to onyx black.

The 2023 Sonata offers three powertrain options. The standard engine is a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder, which produces 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. Upgrade to the turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder for a more powerful option that delivers 180 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. The top-of-the-range engine is a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder that makes an impressive 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque.

The 2023 Sonata offers a smooth and responsive ride. Its eight-speed automatic transmission is smooth and intuitive, and the turbocharged engine options provide plenty of power when you need it. Steering is precise and light, while the suspension soaks up bumps in the road without compromising handling. The Sonata's safety record is nearly impeccable. It earned a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and an overall five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Hyundai's suite of driver assistance technologies is standard across all trim levels and includes lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control. Blind-spot monitoring is standard on all but the SE trim. A semi-autonomous driving system called Highway Driving Assist is available on the SEL Plus and higher trims.
