When equipped with the electric motor rather than the turbo option, the Elantra Hybrid can produce an impressive 139 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque with the 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine.

The Elantra's engine range packs an impressive mix of performance and fuel efficiency. The SE and SEL's base 2.0-liter engine is mated to a CVT (continuously variable transmission), while the N Line models get an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Both transmissions offer smooth gear changes and responsive acceleration. The suspension system has also been tuned to be sporty and responsive, allowing for sharp cornering and confident high-speed cruising.

To match its dramatic exterior, the Elantra's cabin has been fully redesigned with a futuristic look and feel.
